Will update later bila dah selamat semua di tempat baru.... :-) Definately we gonna miss Kuala Terengganu... :cry: we gonna miss nasi dagang...we gonna miss kepok lekor.. we gonna miss seafood celup tepung... we gonna miss penyu..we gonna miss rumah warisan... we gonna miss the peacefulness of the city.. and all about Kuala Terengganu etc etc etc.... We came here 3 years ago.. with no Giant, no Hyper Mydin, no Mc Donalds.. and frankly its a cultural shock to us.. but eventually, gradually we learn and live our lives through it.. Today, there's already Giant, HyperMall and Mc Donalds in town, we had witness all the big things that happen in town- the new transformation of Kuala Terengganu! But, its time for us to move on..to a different place.... Will definately come back here one day, to visit this place.. and definately to visit the beautiful island here!! (ni lah orang kata, bila dah dekat terasa jauh! hahaha...sadis betul 3 tahun duduk Kuala Terengganu tapi satu pulau pun kami tak jejak! huhuhuhu.... takpe, more reason for us to visit here again, huh! :-D but next time sebagai pelancong lerrr... orang ganu jangan lupa kamiii!!! Nanti kami datang lagiiiii....coti2 Terengganu! A jubilant Nur Yasmin Ahmad Rizal of SK USJ (12) said she had not expected to win. She had, however, been excited about being picked to represent her school. "I was surprised that I won as the other contestants were really good. It is a win for my schoolmates too as we practised and trained together," said the aspiring forensic detective. However, her father, Ahmad Rizal, said he had expected his daughter to win because she had a knack for words and was a voracious reader. "I'm extremely proud of her and hope that she will give her best when she competes at the national championship." Jayshrie Sivananthan, 11, of SK Sri Petaling took the second spot while the third prize went to Shawn Hiew Siu Ping of SK Assunta Satu. Tie-breaker words were used to decide the winner, first runner-up and second runner-up in the individual category. SK USJ (12) took the top spot in the schools category. In second place was SK Assunta Satu with SK Assunta (2) close behind. Team members of SK USJ (12) attributed their win to frequent training sessions after school, reading the Oxford dictionary religiously and helping each other practise spelling difficult words. English teacher Adibatul Anniah Ahmad said she was happy with her students' performance and glad that they had fun during the contest. "Win or lose, what is important is the children learn new words while having fun doing it," she said. Pupils from 41 primary schools in Selangor displayed their spelling prowess in the challenge at the Subang Parade shopping centre. Chief judge and presenter for yesterday's contest, New Straits Times associate editor Rehman Rashid said he was impressed by their ability to spell words that even some adults could not. "I think we underestimated the younger children's ability, and I was really taken aback by the level of their vocabulary," he said, adding that he had to source for words from the secondary-level list.
